So my brother got a diagnosis for some mental health challenges he's been facing. Today we briefly caught up. He told me about how he too has ptsd and told me more about the constant racist bullying he experienced not just at school but at Tafe. He told me how when he went camping with the family and how two white people were threatening my sister and him and calling them stupid Asians and threatening to kill them. I have never heard these stories before. He said he was so scared he had been paralysed by it ever since. In a spiral of depression and anxiety. And I felt saddened. Sad that these racist taunts still exist. Sad that people think they are better than others. Sad that he was subject to these words and threats and as a result has suffered mentally and physically. It isn't ok. We must do more. Speak out when you see someone taunted, ridiculed or made fun of. Get around and support those actively dismantling these systems. Listen. And apologise without excuses or explanations when you have hurt someone. Do better. Be better. Rise up and activate. It's time for the #mentalhealth system to get a shake up! And it's time to speak out for those oppressed under political and racist systems in general. Image Credit: @janellesilver

No matter what people tell us what we should be doing,what we should be feeling,how we should be like...at the end of it all no one knows you like you! I've been aΜΆ ΜΆlΜΆiΜΆtΜΆtΜΆlΜΆeΜΆ(a lot) out of my zone lately for a variety of reasons. A symptom of anxiety, health issues, and life has been creative paralysis and writer's block. 🚫 . My mind is starting to SHIFT again, though. I can feel it like when the temperature of the breeze changes and you know new weather is on the way.🌀️️ . Today I dusted off this old journal (who remembers when I got this one?! πŸ™‹) and opened it for the first time in well over a year and I started something NEW. . I ignored all my initial ideas for what this journal *should* be for (which all served me back then, but now resulted in me avoiding it like the plague) and instead started fresh with what I WANT it to be for TODAY. 😻 . This is where the brainstorming happens, where the lists are made, the ideas are born, and the CREATIVITY is brought back into my work. ✨ . I already have a full page of blog and video ideas (swipe ➑️ and let me know in the comments which you're most interested in!) and I've created a section for notes and planning as I write and prepare to film. . I AM SO EXCITED! I can't wait to embrace want>should and to fall back into a creative flow! . ❓Are you STUCK? Consider taking some time to do an audit and find the places you are avoiding and replace them with things that resonate with you. I am a big believer in the power of #prayer, the doings of the universe, and putting in the effort/hard work in order to get to a place of #selflove and #happiness. For me, this is my potion for becoming the best version of myself. And when these things are in sync, I was beginning to notice the different doors opening; the puzzle pieces being laid out in front of me. What I wanted didn’t come in a gift-wrapped box with a bow. But I had it all in front of me to put together. As I excitedly put my pieces together, a distraction occurred; a #puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit, or even worse an old puzzle piece. And this one thing really messed with my head. Was this a sign or #God trying to tell me this isn’t what I am supposed to be doing, where I am supposed to going, who I am supposed to seeing. In a blink of an eye, my #anxiety allowed for me to over analyze and overwhelm me. So, I stopped putting the puzzle pieces together. I waited and waited for another sign. But it didn’t come. The pieces just laid there, becoming more difficult to pick up and connect. See, I was on my right path, doing what felt good in my #heart and soul and a #distraction came. That’s life. It also allows you to see if you’re ready and if you want it bad enough. Let that distraction come and go, and take it for what it is, just a distraction. Continue on, knowing your moving forward into the life and person you have always wanted to beπŸ’•

Mmm decisions. Got a few things on my mind to consider but being responsible and sitting with it prayerfully to see what to do. πŸ’œ It is easy to jump in and make a decision based on fear or on wanting to be liked. Perhaps even based on wanting to be accomplished, or make some extra bucks. But what is it if you gain the whole world but lose your soul? πŸ€” It may feel uncomfortable but perhaps at least giving yourself time to consider will help you not just look at head knowledge but heart...
