I did this as a warm up for back last night and my lats, especially lower lats, were lit more than ever
I used the cambered lat bar attachment to do this...."reverse pull-under" movement (guess I gotta come up with a name for it) because it is easier to supinate my grip without pressure on my wrist and it naturally puts my elbows in toward my body. Elbows coming in towards your body during the concentric or pull, makes it easier to engage the lower lats opposed to elbows going out which gets more upper back/traps. I lean forward as I stretch my lats and simply focus on lowering my elbows and bringing the bar towards my lower chest as I raise my torso up with an arch in my lower back. The connection is even better with a training partner placing their hands on your lower lats. I even have my training partner lean in with a little pressure which intensifies my connection and allows me to arch back more and get an even better angle towards the lower lats. I focus on stretching my lats and more so than stretching my arms which are fixed from the start of the concentric to create a downward arching motion. This isolates the lats and keeps the biceps out of the movement.
